Experience Summary
I have solid teaching and tutoring experience in both classroom and a one on one scenario. I taught English for a private academy in South Korea to children ages K-12 and also tutored adults one on one. After completing my contract in South Korea I returned to graduate school in order to earn a master’s degree in Business Administration at Ohio University. I choose Ohio as they offered me a half scholarship, due to my writing ability, and the opportunity to work in the Professional Writing Center for the College of Business. At this position I was able to tutor college age students, foreign and domestic, to improve their English writing ability.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching students of all ages. My teaching style is very simple; I set goals and expectations upon meeting the parents and then set sub goals with the students that are achievable but challenging. I believe in teaching the student the information and then having the student teach the information back to me. I have found that there is no such thing as a bad or dumb child they are simply unmotivated and need to have the information presented to them in a different manner. My main goals are to find how to motivate the child and how I need to present the information.
