Experience Summary
I have been teaching for 29 years. I have a Master's in Education and I am currently finishing my Speech degree. I have taught preschool special education, deaf education/hearing impairment K-5th grade and K/first grade. My passion is reading and literacy skills which I implement with my school age children with hearing impairment. I am licensed in prek/K-12 special ed, prek- 8th grade, reading and hearing impairment. My speech and language license is pending. I love working with young children and have previously tutored privately.
Teaching Style
I feel like I am patient and flexible. I believe that all children can learn with some modifications in place. Collaborating with the student's classroom teacher is critical for the private tutor to do. I am fun and outgoing and my philosophy is the child should be enjoying the tutoring session(but learning of course)! There are ways to make each session fun and enjoyable.
