Experience Summary
I have recently completed student teaching and have earned my teaching certificate as an art specialist. I have had the privilege of working with a diverse range of students at different levels with varying abilities. I have had internships at the high school and elementary levels, with time spent both in the art classroom as well as the special education classroom. As a substitute teacher, I learned to manage an array of classrooms and assumed all duties of a regular classroom teacher. While working for a day camp, I organized and led activities for diverse students ranging from age five to fifteen. All experiences have made me knowledgeable and sensitive to the diverse cultural, social and learning needs of school-age children.
Teaching Style
I believe teaching is my calling. I love sharing my enthusiasm for learning with others. I am a great motivator and my goal is to inspire every child to succeed in order to reach his/her potential. I am patient, knowledgeable, considerate, and understand that every child learns differently. I feel that my creativity allows me to adapt to student needs. I take a constructivist approach to teaching. I believe that students should be active learners and should set their own goals for themselves. The best reward is knowledge and the ability to attain their goals. I think students learn best by practice, as well as from peer interaction. I am certain I can help your child succeed.
