Experience Summary
I have a unique resume of teaching experience. I have worked in a number of settings from pre-school to teaching adults. I have taught in public schools, private schools, after school settings and in a foreign country. I believe that every person has their own learning style and it is important for me to understand my students' needs and goals in any learning environment. Most of my teaching experience is with Elementary students working in the core academic areas of Reading, Writing, Math, Science and the Arts. Over the years I have focused on literacy through teaching pre-school to teaching English as a foreign language.
Teaching Style
My passion as a teacher is working with children. I have a passion for education that I hope to show through my teaching and share with all of my students. I believe every student learns differently and has strengths and weaknesses. My goal is to get to know my student's leaning styles and help them develop their strengths and use those strengths to improve the areas that are more difficult for them. I believe in Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences and I use the intelligences as often as possible in my lesson plans. I believe that there are many ways to learn and some thing that works for one student might not work for all. Through my teaching style, I will help my student's have a passion for learning.
