Experience Summary
My six years of teaching experience started in Pittsburgh, PA as a Preschool teacher within a Head Start program. I then moved to Martinsburg, WV where I taught Kindergarten for three years and First Grade for one year in a public school system. I am now working towards my M.Ed. in Reading while I substitute teach in grades K-8. I have always been a part of a tutoring program with the schools as well as outside sources (Sylvan Learning Center). I also tutored students while obtaining my undergrad degree in Elementary Education.
Teaching Style
Within my classroom and tutoring sessions, I make sure the student(s) know exactly what I expect from them, which is primarly for them to try their hardest. I maintain a caring and nurturing attitude when I teach while at the same time encourage and motivate my students to work hard. I am very patient and enjoy working with students of all ages. Above all, I want my students to enjoy learning and become life long learners.
