Experience Summary
I earned my BA in 2007 and I have been working in a public Montessori school since then. In addition to my current position as Technology Coordinator, I have volunteered as an Odyssey of the Mind coach and I have worked in the after school math and language tutoring program. Although this is only my fourth year working in elementary education, my prior job experience as a program director for a non-commercial college radio station required effective communication skills, patience, and an ability to work with older students. As a classroom instructor and as a tutor I have worked with students in math, language, social studies, and technology.
Teaching Style
Teaching is an incredibly rewarding experience for me. Working in a Montessori environment has provided me with a patient and child-centered approach to learning. I respect students for their differences, and encourage students to find pride in their accomplishments and progress. I believe that all children should have the opportunity to do their best and become life-long learners, and that they deserve to work with educators who respect their individual learning style and expect excellence.
