Experience Summary
I started my experience in teaching in High School through a Teacher Academy program. I have taught mentored and worked with a variety of students from K-12. Throughout college I studied and worked with diverse groups of students including students in Special Education and low income areas. My actual out of college teaching experience was in 7th and 8th grade Science and Language Arts.
Teaching Style
Each student is an individual, and deserves to have my instruction catered to their specific learning style. My students will learn from intense curiosity and creating meaningful learning opportunities. My position is to be a guide and nourish the academic development of each student.I promote discovery of learning through intrinsic motivation. My students see academics as cooperation and not competition. I focus on each student’s inner-drive by finding subjects that are of interest to him or her. I make sure students are aware of when they are displaying positive or negative behaviors through verbal and physical gestures. Revolving my classroom management around intrinsic motivation increases participation and self-esteem in my students.
