Experience Summary
In a little under two years, I have spent my teaching experience abroad, splitting time between contract work in South Korea and Costa Rica as an English Language Instructor of both Elementary and Adult Language Education in 2nd Language Acquisition. In my experience, I came to understand that teaching language covers more than just the basics of speech and pronunciation, but developing ways in which to effectively communicate in which both teacher and student are able to relate the same ideas with one another, which include not only the areas of reading, writing, and speech, but also areas of math, science, art, physical education and wellness, and music as well.
Teaching Style
I find teaching to be an enriching field that allows me the creativity and flexibility to allow necessary adjustments to the core curriculum based on the student or group of students learning abilities and styles. Every student has a different strength in which they are able to learn, and I believe as a teacher, it is important to recognizes these differences and be able to adjust or adapt to change in a short notice. The end result of an effective lesson plan can bring great reward in terms of a student’s success. As a teacher, I believe that the success of the student should always be the primary focus in the work of an educator, no matter what learning level or background the student has.
