Experience Summary
Graduating this December 2010 with a French major and a minor in Art History, I am very driven to help other students. I am very passionate about the French culture and feel passionate about helping other students who need help. I have received my BA in French Language and the education I received at Indiana University has been excellent. I am native to San Diego, but made the decision to study out-of-state due to the level of expertise in foreign languages at Indian University.
Teaching Style
I strongly believe that the only way to learn a language is to make it interesting for the student. Incorporate music, literature, art, and other aspect of the culture, not just overwhelm the student with excessive grammar and memorization techniques. This is how I learned the language. I incorporate different aspect of the French culture whether it is music, art, culture, film etc. This I find makes the learning process much easier and keeps a level of enthusiasm for the student. The learning experience should bring pride and excitement for the student,; this will result in the retention of information, as well as an increase in grade the maintaining a good grade.
