Experience Summary
I am a lifelong learner who recently completed my MS in Educational Leadership. I have always been self driven in my need to do the best that I can, which enabled to complete my new degree with a 4.0 in May. I currently work with struggling readers at an Elementary level in order to help them gain the confidence they need in order to succeed as well as giving them the scaffolding to do so. My work with struggling readers has enabled me to learn reasons and strategies that can help each and every one succeed. This is my first year working in a school setting and I have learned many useful assessment strategies as well as teaching techniques that allow to make a difference to each and every student I work with.
Teaching Style
Working with children and making a difference has always been my passion. I believe that each child has their own way of learning and that the hallmark of a good educator is being able to discover what path that child needs to take. I am a patient and nurturing educator who is not adverse to using laughter and smiles to help my students feel comfortable when they are with me. My philosophy of learning is based on a hands-on approach; I believe that the best way for someone to learn to is to be shown how to do something, and then supported while they try it themselves.
