Experience Summary
Over the last 3 years, I have focused on delivering education to the Early Head Start Program in Alachua County. Now, I serve my children as an Early Head Start teacher with the Suwannee Valley 4C’s in Lake City, FL. Here’s what I can offer:
- I am certified in Early Childhood Education;
- I am certified as a Child Development Associate for the State of Florida;
- I am certified as a National Child Development Associate by the Council for Professional Recognition; and,
- I am returning to school to complete my degree in psychology/sociology.
Teaching Style
I believe in developing the early learning skills and experiences critical for a child’s future success in school. Through purposeful play as well as explicit instruction, I provide these eager learners with a strong foundation in early literacy, language, math, and science skills while encouraging personal and social development. My approach to teaching is to get down on the child's level, meaning I am not above getting down on the floor on an eye-to-eye level. This gives the child a level of comfort with which to encourage the love for learning.
