Experience Summary
I have taught pre-school and elementary school in Canada and in the USA. I have taught French K-8. I have worked with adults with disabilities in a habiliitation setting. I have worked as a COTA in the school districts where I provided OT services for students with disabilities, aged 4-21.
Teaching Style
My approach when teaching children is child centered. The activities I provde are needs driven and geared toward the child experiencing success as he works to increse skills in the target area.
I teach the child to use strategies which will help him in the area of organization and learning. When appropriate, I encourage the child to use calming techniques or engage the child in activities to promote alertness, the assist the child in focusing on the activity at hand.
