Experience Summary
As a native of Guam, I traveled extensively throughout Asia and the Pacific prior to moving to the U.S. mainland to pursue my bachelor's at the University of California. Moreover, my high school instituted an International Baccalaureate curriculum - which emphasized an international perspective and community service - during my junior year. As such, I approached my studies at UC Berkeley from a multi-cultural point of view, which coincided with an increased emphasis on multi-culturalism in the curriculum at my university. I also obtained a minor in French literature and spent a summer studying French language and literature at the Sorbonne.
Teaching Style
I am an enthusiastic student and love to encourage my students' intellectual curiosity. I believe all children can learn, and I like to work with children to determine the best way that they learn. I am patient, I listen carefully, and I motivate others well. My goal is to provide the highest level of teaching possible. I believe in providing positive reinforcement in an environment that encourages discovery. Good teachers can profoundly influence children's lives and instill a life-long love of learning.
