Experience Summary
Since childhood, my hunger for knowledge has driven me to study and learn about almost as much as I possibly could. My high estimation of learning has often led me to help others to learn whenever I can. Always drawn to math and science, I pursued chemistry in college and received my B.S. from North Carolina State University in Chemistry in 2002. In grade school and high-school I was always looked to by my fellow students for help and explanation of many topics. This continued throughout college where I gained a job tutoring at another school and also worked at the study labs of NCSU. Science and math are my passions, but I can help equally with humanities.
Teaching Style
I begin teaching each tutee by first observing their own approach to studying, listening to their explanations and questions about the material, and indentifying their strengths and deficincies with respect to knowledge of the subject. Then I attempt to mold my approach based on these observations, course requirements, and my own personal belief that we are all capable of learning most anything as long as it is presented to us in a way we can understand and that is enjoyable and exciting for the student.
