Experience Summary
I have taught middle school math for 2 years in NC for grades 6-8, have worked as a substitute in the same time for the same grades as well as on my own since 2006 off and on. I have been a substitute teacher in OH from 2008-2010 and during that time was also a long-term math substitute teacher for grades 6-7. I have also been a soccer coach during the 2004-2009 seasons and during that time worked as an in-home tutor for some of the kids I was coaching.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with students to help them learn mathematics. I believe all students learn in different ways and because of this I always show them different ways to obtain the answers and teach them that in math there are many ways to get an answer, not just 1 perfect way. I believe all students can learn if given the opportunity and have someone believe in them, and I encourage them to believe in themselves and learn in the easiest way possible to maximize their ability. I am extremely patient, easy going, and knowledgeable in how to relate mathematics to the students.
