Experience Summary
My varied professional and personal experiences have provided me with a broad skill set enabling me to develop strong relationships, create high levels of trust and earn tangible results with people of all ages from 5 to 75. Professional experiences during a 30-year career include training, customer service, sales, marketing, recruiting, and management, while gaining exceptional skills in writing and mathematics. Community service work includes 20 years of coaching Little League, both boys and girls, from ages 5 to 18. As a parent of three daughters, ages 15, 24 and 27, and one son, age 8, I’m very involved in each child’s academic and personal development. All four are “A” students. Two have college degrees and a third is college-bound.
Teaching Style
I believe in a four-step teaching and coaching style of explaining, showing, shadowing and doing, followed up by a lot of repetition. The goal is to develop independence one step at a time, while leading up to the next step in a particular subject area or task. While pointing out areas of needed improvement, I’m a firm believer in positive reinforcement, but not afraid to apply a little bit of tough love, when and if necessary.
