Experience Summary
As a holder of two Journalism degrees I have been through the extensive rigors of college and know what it takes to get assignments done properly and haned in on time. I feel that the experience of having just been in college would help benefit any college student seeking help in certain areas of their education. Having two journalism degrees has taught me the grammatical skills to write for numerous media outlets, while also being able to proofread and edit as well.
Having worked for the Boys & Girls Club in Janesville, I would work with elementary and high school kids with their homework on a daily basis, covering every primary subject.
Teaching Style
I come from a large family of teachers, so teaching and mentoring students is in my blood. Receiving help with homework and research was always a top priority for my parents. The key component that my parents have passed along to me, regarding teaching, is patience.
As someone who was diagnosed with A.D.D. as a child, I know the importance of patience in terms to the success of learning, and that not everyone understands concepts the same way. My job is to make these new concepts easy to understand and fun to learn about at the same time.
I want to let the student know that I can relate to their problems, having gone through some of them myself as a child.
