Experience Summary
During my undergraduate work I was a teacher’s assistant (T.A.) for two years. As a T.A. it was my job to run physics for other undergraduates. This included both the calculus based physics and non-calculus based physics. I also worked with an elementary teacher as part of an outreach program to bring science into the class room. Two times a week I would travel to the class room and teach the kids (4th graders) science. Having a BS is physics gives me a great foundation in math.
Teaching Style
Having a degree in physics gives me excellent problem solving skills. Combined with my interest in philosophy I have the confidence to tackle any problem, boil it down to the basic question and from there show each step to the student. There are many different ways to explain math and science concepts, and problems. With the background I have it gives me a good grasp of the material, and this allows me to find the best way communicate that to the student.
