Experience Summary
I am highly qualified to tutor others in chemistry, especially organic chemistry. I have B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemistry, and have almost 10 years of professional experience as a chemist. I have also been a high school teacher of chemistry and physics. I also have tutored college students in organic chemistry. I have also tutored elementary school students in math and reading.
Teaching Style
My general approach is to assess the student's learning style and adapt my assistance to that as best as I can. I want to help the student become familiar and comfortable with the subject. I am gifted at breaking the subject down into smaller pieces, allowing the student who is struggling to gain confidence. I believe in building the student's understanding of the subject into a broader context to help the student appreciate the subject more and see how it actually applies to real life.
