Experience Summary
As a graduate from various institutions, I have been fortunate in learning physics from many different perspectives. I have experience in both experimental and theoretical physics, which gives me a deep understanding of the mathematics and applications associated with this subject. I also have 4 years of experience in physics education at the freshmen and sophomore college level covering all aspects of physics. Currently I finishing my Ph.D. in High-Energy Physics, with an expected graduation date of Fall 2011.
Teaching Style
I very much enjoy teaching physics and in the past several years has become a passion mine. My style of teaching consists of two steps: (1) Conceptual understanding and (2) Problem solving, in the respective order. I believe a student must understand the why the are doing the what they are before learning the techniques to solve. This will allows them to not memorize the the steps to doing problems in physics but do develop an understanding and therefore truly learn the subject. I should also note that I am very patient with students because physics is a subject that takes time to grasp and is not something the develops over night.
