Experience Summary
During my years as a student, it was something I excelled at. I did not have to typically study for hours to achieve success in retaining material. I tend to remember things easily and be good with educating others on subject matter. I have been a substitute teacher and have mentored elementary through middle school age children. When I graduated college with my Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice, I was a member of an International Honor Society as well as one only for Criminal Justice majors and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
Teaching Style
My teaching style would be classified as patient. I was diagnosed with a learning disability myself when I was in third grade, so I know how differently children learn. I was lucky enough to have patient resource teachers to work with and allow me to find my way of learning the material led by them, of course. So I think tutoring is extremely important for success of our children. I even received tutoring all the way up through high school and was grateful to my private tutor for, again, helping me to learn the material in a way that made sense to me and I strive to do the same for the children I teach.
