Experience Summary
I have two degrees - a BA in Liberal Arts and an Associates in Nursing. While I was studying nursing I tutored other nursing students and later on tutored an Ultra Sound student. I have always had strong study skills. I have done a variety of jobs which have given me the opportunity to educate others about health issues. I also took a correspondence course with the London School of Journalism to improve my grammatical skills. I am seeking an opportunity to use my teaching skills to tutor reading, english, study skills and hope to add other subjects in the future.
Teaching Style
I am very motivated to help children or adults to learn - I especially like to find creative ways to help people understand subjects. I like to start with making an assessment of what my student already knows, this gives me an idea of what needs to be worked on and also gives the student confidence to continue the learning process. I would also look for possible barriers to learning which I will problem solve to help the student to be receptive to learning. I would make sure that we set goals together for our tutoring sessions especially in view of upcoming tests and examinations. I would look forward to making a positive difference in the education of all my students.
