Experience Summary
As a teacher and tutor for over 27 years, I have had the pleasure of helping students explore their potential, find their passion, and excel in their learning experiences. I have been the Editor-in-Chief of several journals, and have written more than 70 articles, so I am especially strong in aiding students in researching and drafting research papers and essays. I also have taught in the classroom for more than a decade and have a reputation of bringing out the best in students. I have a Ph.D. in law and a B.S. in Political Science, but I also have extensive experience in other fields of social science and the humanities.
Teaching Style
Students learn best when they feel vested in the process of learning and excited about the journey; it is always my goal to convey my passion for the learning experience and my partnership with the student in that process. I am a firm believer in active learning and thus avoid rote memorization exercises and merely showing students how to do something. I help them to wrestle with the materials, to look at concepts from every possible angle, and to learn the importance of synthesizing information and determining what is wheat and what is chaff. I am patient and friendly with my students, but my focus is always on preparing them as learners.
