Experience Summary
While I studied for my undergraduate degree, I tutored fellow class mates in History, Business Law, English and other subjects. I taught study skills to help them improve their learning process. To broaden my tutoring horizons, I have recently studied basic Algebra. I have worked with international students on their English. I have tutored at-risk students (who have considered dropping out of high school) to help them graduate. I truly enjoy helping others become life-long learners.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching students how to learn. Learning strategies teach students how to learn proficiently and quickly. Consider the following illustration. A student can take a football and run toward the goal line. He who runs efficiently and smartly (avoiding players whose goal is to tackle him) will cross the goal line. Discipline and strategy are essential to effective learning. Most students do not plan to fail their subjects, they fail to plan study techniques. I am a patient and easy going person with students. I am a candid and tactful person. I give each student 100% of my effort. All I ask is the student give me 100% of his or her effort.
