Experience Summary
I am a Massachusetts certified teacher of mathematics for grades 5-12, and have four years combined experience as a teacher and tutor of mathematics and language arts. My experience includes training at the Huntington learning center of Acton Massachusetts, where I became well versed in strategies for improving performance on standardised tests, especially the SAT. I have also taught for two years at Marlborough High School, where I worked in classrooms with students who had various learning disabilities, from ADD to autism.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is based first and foremost upon engagement. I feel that it is absolutely critical for the successful instructor of any subject to have a passion for that subject that is evident in the way he or she interacts with students. For myself, there is no higher calling than education- and the benefits that can be reaped through effective mathematics education can easily benefit all other scholastic areas.
When a teacher can effectively engage with students in a positive and encouraging manner, the students can benefit through an increased confidence which is the natural result of successful problem solving endeavors.
