Experience Summary
As a graduate teaching assistant in 1992, department of engineering selected me as the teaching assistant of the year. Teaching was fulfilling and rewarding to me. I offered additional tutoring sessions at no cost to help students comprehend the material.
I have limited experience as a substitute teacher. I substituted a few times when I lived in Connecticut in 1995 and then a few times in Maine in 2000.
Mostly, my career as a principal mechanical engineer dominated my time for the last 16 years.
Teaching Style
As a teacher I strive to understand the best means of communicating information to a student. Listening to a student's current understand helps me determine the optimal approach to advancing their knowledge. All students are capable of learning, albeit at varying paces and varying levels, it is a matter of determining the most efficient means of connecting with each student. When a student can experience the thrill of grasping a concept or applying previously learned knowledge to a current problem, confidence and courage are built one step at a time. I want to help build each student's awareness and help them grow as a human being through learning.
