Experience Summary
As a first generation college student, I was encouraged by my parents to do succeed in school. They knew that for me to be able to attend college I would have to well in school. While I was pursuing my BA in Art History and Archaeology, I found that I had a knack for encouraging others to strive for excellence. After graduating with my BA, I decided to pursue my MA in Educational Leadership. My master’s program gave me valuable insight into the many hardships faced by today’s students. During the past year, I worked at a private college in Central Florida. I have written numerous research papers and presented various workshops on a variety of academic subjects. I have excellent reading comprehension skills and grammatical skills.
Teaching Style
I am a firm believer that every person has the right to an education. I am a very patient, laid back educator. My teaching philosophy is one of challenge and support. I believe that when a student is challenged academically, they will succeed if there is adequate support provided. I prefer to focus on a student’s learning strengths. By helping students realize what they do well, one can then apply those skills to subjects that the student finds challenging. Every person has the ability to learn anything that they put their mind too. I will make every effort to help students realize their true academic potential.
