Experience Summary
When at the U. of South Florida, in order to receive a degree in Special Education we were also required to meet all criteria for a degree in Elementary Education. Therefor, I graduated with a double degree and a minor in Art education. The majority of my teaching experience was in the field from Educable retarded to the last years at our state institution, Sunland. The wide range of teaching settings aided in strengthening my ability to individualize instruction at the same time delivering it in a creative way. In the last 10 years I have returned to Lively Vo Tec and learned professional photography. That has been my primary work since then.
Teaching Style
I actually have always taught others, even as a child, my peers came to me to learn new things because of my patience and persistence to help them learn. So, it was easy to study education in college. There my focus shifted to the more difficult children and adults to teach that had learning disabilities. Meeting the students where they are and accessing their needs is the place to start and then providing an environment that they will thrive in. I have always been a very intuitive and creative teacher - always loving children of all ages.
