Experience Summary
In early 2006 I decided to give back to the community and entered the teaching profession in the public sector. In 2009 I became a Professionally Certified Teacher who takes responsibility for establishing a positive classroom climate and recognizes the importance of peer relationships in establishing a climate of learning. I became a mature, seasoned professional who exhibits behaviors that show a commitment to planning, reflection, assessment, and learning as an on-going process, who displays thoughtful, effective verbal and nonverbal communication and responsive listening, and who respects the teaching profession by maintaining a professional demeanor in dress, punctuality and speech.
Teaching Style
My efforts have resulted in three achievements that continue to directly benefit my students. (1) I maintained classroom decorum by assigning classroom positions of responsibility. (2) I introduced and encouraged the self-beneficial learning strategies of metacognition in order to combat low motivational issues. (3) I created a computer-based assessment system in order to increase the quality and completion rate of homework assignments.
I believe that my students’ academic success depends not only on mastering the content, but also on learning how to teach themselves anything they wish to learn. “You can give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish and he will feed himself and others for the rest of his life.”
