Experience Summary
After volunteer tutoring at my daughters’ schools, I was determined to study teaching to have a better understanding of children with special learning needs. As a private college student, I was very motivated to obtain superior grades and I maintained an average G.P.A. of 3.50+ while caring for my children and home.
As I began teaching I was involved in extensive professional development courses through each school district I worked. While working with many different teachers I aquired extensive amounts of content knowledge and teaching strategies in elementary education, biology, English, American government, world cultures and economics.
Teaching Style
As evidenced by my experiences, I enjoy teaching students on many different ability and grade levels. My students found me to be laid back and understanding with high expectations. I believe each student has a unique gift to offer but it takes encouragement and consistency to be revealed in order for them to be successful in life. I have found it very important to also discovery and share “how” each student learns. Once your child knows what works best for them and learns how to implement those life learning skills they will be able to adapt to different learning situations with confidence.
