Experience Summary
Since graduating from Bryn Mawr College, I have spent nine years tutoring and teaching students a wide variety of subjects including English as a foreign language, Spanish, Russian, music, elementary academics, adult basic education, special needs education, and transition skills. I have taught in a classroom setting, as well as small group and one-on-one. I have experience working across the spectrum of developmental stages, from children preparing for kindergarten to those well into retirement. I hold a BA in Russian language with a minor in linguistics, in addition to a deep desire for my students to achieve results.
Teaching Style
I have a very active, hands-on teaching style. Since every individual learns differently, I incorporate visual, aural, oral, and physical elements into my all of my lesson plans. I listen to what my student's objectives are, the parent or guardian's objectives, as well as personally identifying overlooked areas for improvement. Having set the goals, I work with the student to achieve those goals.
