Experience Summary
In college I volunteer tutored at the Crawford Country READ center to a pupil struggling with reading comprehension, writing and mathematics. In addition to this, during my senior year at Allegheny College I was a teaching assistant for a Research Design and Statistics I and II course. Furthermore, I am currently living in Pittsburgh as a private tutor. As a recent college graduate I can understand the difficulties some students may face in grasping course material and feel capable of connecting and conveying information in an effective way.
Teaching Style
In the past I have worked with students both one and one and within a group setting, and feel comfortable adapting to any particular group or individual's needs. I believe effective teachers must compose a delicate balance of meticulous discipline and natural concern. The best teachers and professors of my academic career were not only intelligent, but carried a contagious passion for what they studied. I would like to think my teaching style is the same.
