Experience Summary
My teaching experience consists of two recent years of substitute teaching in Watertown, Delano, Mound and Orono public school districts. I taught as a long term science substitute at Olson JHS in Bloomington in 1980.
In addition, I have taught numerous safety courses to engineers and technicians as a safety officer with my former employers over the past twenty years. My former employers have been organizations providing professional engineering services to private and public clients. Public speaking and writing skills for engineers are two other areas in which I have taught effectively during my career.
I bring direct management experience and proven writing skills.
Teaching Style
My teaching style consists of instructing through personal experiences and relating of importance of subject material to life in general. I am compelled to teach because I am very curious by nature and enjoy sharing concepts and ideas with others as they are exposed to new material. I consider my teaching style to be flexible and always searching to answer the question, "what is the students particular learning style like?" Thus, I tend to drift toward and match up my teaching style with the learning style of the student. This method is short on lecturing and long on collaboration while looking for the qualities of accuracy, organization, thoroughness, directness, judgement, and expression.
