Experience Summary
I have been teaching guitar, both electric and acoustic for 6 years. I have almost received my B.A. in Music from Vanguard University with an emphasis in Guitar Performance. I only have to do my senior recital, which i postponed from last semester to due to a family emergency. I plan to finish my recital in January. Since I started college i have been surrounded with all different types of music ranging from classical to rock, from jazz to pop. I have taken many music theory classes and I used that information and applied it to the guitar.
Teaching Style
I love teaching students to love the guitar. I first ask the students what they would like to get out of playing the guitar and then go from there. I start them off with information that I think all guitarists and musicians should know. I incorporate music theory into the lessons. I ask for their input on what songs they would like to play and I analyze that and make sure that they have the proper tools to achieve that goal. If i feel that their song choice is above the students playing ability, I will make sure to go over the necessary steps to get them to where they want to be. I love helping my students dreams come true.
