Experience Summary
I am a native French speaker with a Ph.D. in French Language and Literature from Michigan State University. I also hold a Master’s degree in English and International Business from the Sorbonne University (France). I am experienced in the daily conduct and management of a classroom, as well as positively interacting and collaborating with parents, colleagues and staff. I am a seasoned professional with over 13 years of experience in teaching French and English from middle school to the university level, including upper level French classes in Holton-Arms in Bethesda, and 5 years as an Assistant Professor of French at Clemson University (in South Carolina).
Teaching Style
I am an energetic, creative and dedicated teacher with excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and strong mentoring and team-building capabilities. I strongly believe that it is a major part of my mission as a teacher to transfer knowledge and seek the optimal way to motivate, support, and mentor students. I favor communicative teaching approaches, and student-oriented classes, integrating and adapting instruction in order to meet the needs of all students in the classroom, engaging them in critical thinking and problem-solving activities, as well as providing an inclusive, nurturing, positive and stimulating, yet challenging classroom environment. I have effectively integrated technology in the classroom.
