Experience Summary
I have received a BA in Math and Earth Science Secondary Education. I am currently obtaining my Master's Degree in Math Education. I have a diverse background in education ranging from tutoring, substitute teaching, and teaching grades 7 – College in the areas of math and science. I have acquired the skills to help students develop a deep understanding of mathematical and scientific processes and not just surface knowledge or basic memorization. I have effectively used and been trained on numerous curricula ranging from traditional to integrated.
Teaching Style
My passion and energy help me to connect with students and develop a rapport which allows for more effective communication and an enjoyable learning experience. As a teacher, I have a talent for taking the student's interests and breaking that down into mathematical and scientific concepts which makes it more interesting and understandable for the learner. I feel that making connections to real world situations helps with long-term success! I have a great sense of fulfillment when I see my students making connections and succeeding at the levels they are capable of achieving.
