Experience Summary
I have taught language arts and reading in public and private charter schools for over 15 years. I also taught TOEFL in Mexico and Japan. While in Japan, I worked as a TOEFL instructor and also taught conversation classes, and GRE vocabulary and critical reasoning classes. I am currently creating state tests for Pearson in the area of reading and language arts. I have several years' experience working with special education students and hold a special ed certificate in addition to a life time language arts grade 7-12 certificate. I am eager to return to what I do best: teaching.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with students of all ages and am comfortable with elementary through post-graduate learners. I am particularly adept at teaching writing because I have focused my approach to grammar and reading skills around writing. I possess infinite patience and am sensitive to special learners. I believe the best way to teach is one-on-one, but I can easily adapt to classes with large numbers of learners. I believe in my students and am certain that all can learn.
