Experience Summary
I am looking forward to sharing the skills which were developed over 30 years of teaching. My elementary classroom experience includes teaching grades 2,3,4,5 and 6. The successful experiences I had working with learning disabled students, unmotivated students, and gifted students brought me much satisfaction. One on my strengths is my ability to motivate and inspire students with different learning styles across many grade levels.
Teaching Style
It is very important to find out what skills sets a child needs to be reinforced. The activities the student engages in must be based on his strengths and weaknesses. I believe in working with the student to explain their thought process. I do this by asking questions and helping them realize how to attack a task. I find the student by verbalizing what they are thinking is able to progress at a faster rate. This helps the student self confidence and the way they feel about themselves.
