Experience Summary
By earning a duel BA in Spanish and Linguistics and a MA in Applied Linguistics, I have spent an extensive amount of time researching teaching methods and learning styles pertaining to first and second language acquisition. Understanding these learning styles allows me to relate to a wide range of students and discover what works best on an individual basis. I have applied these skills as a university writing tutor, as well as an editor for McGraw-Hill text books in the foreign language department.
Teaching Style
I am very enthusiastic about language learning, because I know understanding and utilizing language has the ability to influence learning across all subject matter. I am patient and methodical in analyzing the student's learning styles in order to identify the most effective and efficient presentation of the material. However, I am also confident that learning styles are co-dependent on teaching styles; therefore, I will not hesitate to introduce as many teaching methods as I see appropriate.
