Experience Summary
I am an outgoing and energetic teacher with dual certifications in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education (RI and MA). I am certified to teach Pre-K through 6th grade. I have 5 years of experience working in schools, including 2 years teaching full-day Kindergarten. I have a Masters Degree in Arts and Teaching: Elementary Education with a specialized endorsement in Early Childhood Education. I have provided students with private tutoring services in several subjects for 3 years. As a teacher, I have experience working closely with children of varying abilities and learning styles (including students with ADD/ADHD, special education, IEPs, Speech/Language problems, and behavior problems).
Teaching Style
I am sure to build a strong relationship with my students, so they feel comfortable working with me. In return, I see children work hard and make huge gains both academically and socially. I expect a lot out of my students, so in order for them to work hard I have to make sure I make my lessons and activities exciting and engaging. It is important to celebrate each success with children, no matter how small, in order to make overall improvements. I am also a firm believer that parents should be partners in education and I always provide parents/guardians with updates on student progress, goals for future sessions, and useful activities or tools to reinforce student learning at home.
