Experience Summary
I have had experience teaching junior high school, high school and college level courses. I have tutored at each of these levels. I have earned a bachelors degree in Biology and Chemistry and a master's degree in chemistry. I have always been driven to achieve a high level of excellence in teaching at all levels. My efforts have been rewarded by winning many teaching awards for excellence. In addition to teaching, I have over 30 years of experience as a professional consultant in environmental science and nutrition. I am an expert tutor in chemistry, biology, nutrition, environmental science, and biotechnology.
Teaching Style
I have a passion for teaching students at all levels. I know that different students have different learning styles. I have written curricular strategies for many different learning styles. As a scientist, I encourage students to learn and apply principles of science instead of rote memorization. I am a master at creating a safe learning environment that is essential for student success. I firmly believe that positive reinforcement is key to learning success. In order for students to achieve success in learning, they must get over their fear of a given discipline. This is accomplished by providing students with one small success after another until the fear is gone.
