I love teaching, and find helping others learn and understand very rewarding. My experience has taught me that many, if not most, learning problems are reflective of the teachers incomplete understanding of the subject they are trying to teach. The subjects I teach I do understand, and can describe to the student from different 'angles' as it were, in helping them gain command of that subject in their own minds. Learning is an adventure, and if the teacher has a love, and command, of the subject, and concern for the student, wonderful progress and moments of personal breakthrough can, and will, be achieved. My freshman class at BYU had over 400 Chemical Engineering students. Sixteen of us graduated, the rest were 'weeded out'.
