My comments on tutoring Study Skills : As an Educator in the school system, I teach my students how to properly study to gain the best results from their subject matter.

As a Paraprofessional-Educator, I enjoy working with children in the areas of reading. They come to me struggling and in need of more assistance that I feel I can provide. I enjoy decoding and comprehension for basic skill understanding. I have worked with children mentoring and tutoring them for the last 8 years.
In college, I strived to do my very best. Like many others I had to write papers on different topics and grammar and comprehension plays a big part in writing a good paper. A Little Bit About Me...

What I have learned working with students is that many do not learn in the same manner. I beleive in what is called top process learning. Given the student a concept and allowing them to explore the possibilities of how one arrives at such a concept has allowed deeper critical thinking and strategic planning. However, this method is not predominately taught in Georgia education system. I have found this method to be very effective. The other method is patience. Students who strugge with their academic learning usually are having other areas of difficulty which may be social learning. Having clinical training allows me to make a more accurate assessment.

I believe that patience is key to a child's learning experience. When I was in school, I had teachers that were mostly concerned with tearing through the curriculum. Many times there were some left behind in the process who did not firmly grasp the concepts being taught.
