Found my passion in teaching - let me help your child!

I am a third year student studying for an Elementary Education degree through DmACC and Iowa State. I have just completed a year of Elementary Educator math courses. I have also have a degree in Practical Nursing and Limited Radiology Technology. I decided to go back to school to become an Elementary Teacher after being a nurse for several years and also ran a daycare out of my home when my kids were small. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated 10th in a high school class of 900. I have a BA in Dance and am currently taking pre physical therapy course work. I teach and train dancers, both in class and one on one. I also teach yoga. When I teach I also am teaching the history of the form, vocabulary, and the anatomy behind it.
I understand that everyone learns differently. I generally prefer a more hands on approach. I attended a Montessori middle school and found it most effective. However, the goal is find what works best for the student.

I have recently graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor’s degree in statistics. The coursework in this program has allowed me to gain an understanding of many areas of statistics and mathematics. In addition, I have learned grammatical skills through writing reports and essays in English classes. As a Junior in college I made the decision to become a teacher. The decision was based on the observation that a majority of teachers are over worked and don't have the time to provide the individual attention some students require. I performed my student teaching at a small school called Central Heights. I taught Physical Education- grades K-8, Physical Education-Freshman Boys, and 3rd Grade-all subjects. I also performed in-class reading requirements in a 2nd Grade classroom.
