GED is one of my top subjects! I am the Adult Education Program Manager for a non-profit organization which prepares hundreds of students for the GED test.

I am patient yet firm. I expect students to be accountable for their own success; I want my students to become self-sufficient. With proper guidance and encouragement most students will succeed if not excel.
I taught high school English for three years. My students ranged from far below basic to advanced. My students consistently showed improvement in their standardized test scores and over 95% of my students passed the course. Also, Over 95% of my sophomore passed the CAHSEE. In addition to my high school experience, I have been tutoring adult learners for the past three years, becoming the program manager two years ago. I have never been someone who "just gets it" when it comes to math or science, and so I understand more than many people who pursued degrees in these subjects just how puzzling they can be. Math seems like it is filled with "tricks" that seem impossible to know unless you were born with some innate gift. When I teach, I seek to show, step-by-step. how to think about a problem as more than a set of symbols on paper.
