A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from Purchase College with an Undergraduate degree in Music with a minor in English. During School I tutored students in English composition and edited students essays and papers during the entirety of my undergraduate education. I have also taught voice and music theory to students privately. In High-school I scored a 97 percent out of 100 on the English regents exam. I recently received a full scholarship to complete my masters at the University of Maryland.
I will fit my teaching to the client. If a student learns with visuals, I will use visuals. If a student is an aural learner, I will cater to that side. Although I have only held my BM in Music Education for a little over a year, I have always sought out opportunities to hone my skills as a teacher. While I was still earning that degree, I was the person many of my peers approached to help them understand music theory when they were stuck. None of them failed their tests after a few extra lessons with me. Since graduating, I have been working at a special education school as a one on one aide, and I am constantly making effort to coax out the musical side of my students, often with positive and exciting results. A Little Bit About Me...

I loved teaching! I think I retired too early because I miss the every day challenges and excitement teaching gives! I have been trained in 4Mat and Gardners Multiple Intelligences. I firmly believe "every child can learn" as long as you teach to their learning style. My daughter is following in my foot steps and will start her first teaching job in September. I truly believe if we show a child we care they can learn anything!
I am a retired school teacher that misses teaching children.I taught in a NJ public School for over 30 years. I actually taught in the same school district I attended as a child.
