My philosophy of teaching is to train the student to think like a scientist and/or mathematician. It is not just about getting the right answer but rather understanding the fundamental principals of a subject. This enables the student to try previously unseen problems and succeed. I also believe in varying the techniques used. If a student has trouble with their teacher or text books approach, a different method should be explored. I have taught in the private sector for 5 years. I have taught all academic subjects. I can am proficient in Math through Calculus, and have taken college level Chemistry Biology, and Physics. I am credentialed as an English teacher in California.
I prefer teaching utilizing the Socratic method, but have experience ranging from running labs to delivering instruction directly from curriculum. I try to engage each student with the material in a way that is relevant to that student.
