A Little Bit About Me...

I am extremely passionate about all topics related to the biological sciences. I earned a bachelor's degree in Biology. During my undergraduate education I had the opportunity to enhance my ability to educate others and share the fascinating world of biology. I was honored with a teaching position in Osteology and tutored students in Cell biology and statistics. I had phenomenal success with my students and found myself tutoring fellow biology students in my own classes for fun. I also have a masters degree in Ecology and Evolution. During this time I worked as an anatomy and physiology instructor. I also worked as an instructor at Globe University teaching Earth Science, General Biology, and Environmental Issues.

I find that tutoring is very fulfilling and a good way to give back to the community. I like to break down the subject into terms that a person might find more interesting or easier to understand. I think that building trust is also very important in the tutor relationship. The trust will allow the student to admit what he/she doesn't understand and why they may feel confused or frustrated.
I have always found tutoring to be a way to give back to the community. Throughout my four years at Marquette I tutored in three programs including the federally recognized TRIO program to help advance the college prospects of inner city minorities. I tutored in high school and college level math, science, social studies, English and literature. At Marquette I earned a BA in history and theology. I also studied abroad and at Marquette in Italian language, and now can read and speak Italian with advanced conversational fluency. My senior thesis will be published in Milwaukee History. Most recently I have taught Street Law, a legal education program for juniors and seniors in high school.
