While in the UAE (Dubai), I tutored Arabic students in American English, customs and common phrases. I really enjoy teaching and watching students progress in their language studies. I understand it is sometimes difficult to learn a foreign language since I have undergone the process myself several times over. Therefore I am able to relate to my students and provide encouragement. I believe it is reassuring for them to know that once I was in the same place they are. I am patient and friendly, and I find this to be helpful in eliciting student engagement, especially when they feel shy about making mistakes. A Little Bit About Me...

I really like the Sanskrit word, “Namaste,” which I consciously use as a point of guidance in encountering people. One interpretation or meaning of this word is: The Light in me sees the Light in you. I want to honor others so that I can be of better service to them. If I am asked to tutor anyone, young or old, I hope that this can be the foundation of our meeting so that the learning process is a joyous one.
