My comments on tutoring Piano : I play professionally and teach a wide range of levels and ages

I teach so called "classical" reading, and improvisation, once basics are under control.
I started teaching in 1988 as a college student. I played in the US Army Band. Upon graduation, I taught band and orchestra in Wichita KS public schools. I have been on the faculty of Friends University in Wichita, KS and Bethel College in Newton, KS. I taught private piano and bass students at Jim Starkey Music Center in Wichita, also. Many of my bass students have been in the Wichita Youth Symphony.

I absolutely love teaching. I have considered continuing my education and pursuing a secondary education teaching degree. I believe I am patient and kind, and provide a learning experience that is most beneficial to all. I think that students can have fun while learning, and I try to combine fun into my teachings. Although so many students don't believe it, anyone can solve a math problem! They just need to understand how to look at the problem the right way.
